2021 – 2022:

Thank you for supporting our observing activities in Luskville and our planetarium shows across the region. Our events are based on group gatherings in pretty close quarters. These are very difficult to do safely in this time of COVID-19.

AstroPontiac has been testing some controlled events to identify protocols that would allow us to host some evenings in October. Weather permitting, we are planning to open up to the public on the evenings of October 8, 9, 29 and 30. Please refer to our Facebook page or our Twitter feed for a “Go” or “No Go”. In addition to the observing tips below, observers will be asked to have proof of double vaccination for Covid-19. Please also wear a mask during the times you wish to gather around a telescope.

In order to get the most out of our future viewing events, take a look at the list of tips below!

  • You may wish to bring a folding chair and a flashlight (to navigate the path to the viewing area).
  • Feel free to bring a pair of binoculars, if you have them.
  • Waterproof / water-resistant shoes are highly recommended, as the grass tends to collect evening dew.
  • Evenings can get chilly, so you might want to consider a jacket.
  • Don’t forget to put on some bug spray!
